Neeva new search engine by Google former Sridhar Ramaswamy

Neeva – The New Direct Competitor to Google

We all know that Google is the largest search engine in the world. According to the latest survey in 2020, Google has 90% of the global search market share. Over the past two decades, lots of search engines including Microsoft’s bing tried to push down google search market share. Recently DuckDuckGo tried to push down google based on privacy issues. But still, Google has a specific dominant on the search engine market.

Sridhar Ramaswamy

Sridhar Ramaswamy is a man who worked in Google from 2003 to 2018 (15 years),  as Senior Vice President of Ads & Commerce. In an interview held by “The New York Times”,  Ramaswamy told that he had left google because of disillusionment. The continuous effort to maintain Google’s growth, he said, had come at a heavy cost to the company’s users. Relevant search results were pushed down the page to find more space for advertisements, and privacy data was sacrificed for some online tracking tools to keep tabs on what ads people were seeing.

Neeva

After two years,  Ramaswamy has formed a new company and tried to create an alternative to the google search. The newly developed search engine is called Neeva. Maybe this search engine(Neeva) will challenge or replace google in the future. Because this is developed by an Indian-American Ex-Google Executive who handled the charge of the company’s $115 billion advertising arm (Ramaswamy). Vivek Raghunathan ( ex-VP of Monetization at YouTube ) is a co-founder of Neeva search engine.

Neeva gives more priority to the relevancy of search results since it is an ad-free search engine. This search engine is never going to generate money with user’s privacy & datas instead  Neeva collects a subscription amount from the users. The monthly subscription amount is about 10 USD per month.

In the future, the Neeva search engine will be a direct competitor to Google which will not have Ads and is subscription-supported. Neeva so far raised USD 37.5 million and has 25 employees.

Do you think Neeva can push down Google?
